    Case Associate- Foster Care and Adoption

    NAC is currently seeking a talented Case Associate to join the Specialized Foster Care Program.

    The team in the foster care department works with children, families and foster families to ensure safety, permanency and well-being for youth in foster care.  The case associate is a critical member of the foster care team assisting social workers with various case planning tasks, including making home visits, supervising family visits, and making referrals for concrete services and gathering information for adoption home studies.

    • Salary: $43k|

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise family visits in the office and in the community, acting as a visiting coach; document visits for electronic case record.
    • Conduct foster home visits, visits to birth homes and other field visits; document visits for electronic case records.
    • Assist social workers with necessary phone contacts to arrange appointments to make referrals for concrete services.
    • Attend Family Team Conferences, Family meetings, and any other scheduled multi-disciplinary case conferences, as necessary.
    • Accompany and advocate for parents at appointments for public assistance, housing, and other necessary services.
    • Visit schools to discuss educational progress of children with teachers and other school personnel.
    • Assist with data collection for adoption home studies.
    • Provide other assistance, as might reasonably be required, to support case management and permanency efforts for families with children in foster care.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree; BSW preferred
    • Prior experience working with families in a child welfare setting preferred
    • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and engagement skills
    • Ability to multi-task and work independently
    • Bilingual Spanish is preferred
