If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, planning to enter the exciting field of health and human services, New Alternatives for Children (NAC) will provide you with a wonderful opportunity to gain invaluable work experience. Through the NAC Student Internship Program, you will obtain an in-depth understanding of best practices in the field and be supervised by highly trained clinical and professional staff.

Internships are available to students pursuing their undergraduate and graduate degrees in the following areas:

• Social Work 
• Psychology
• Behavioral Health
• Developmental Disabilities
• Education 
• Public Health
• Marketing and Development
• Administration

You will work with a wide range of clients: children, teens, young adults, and families; and individuals with medical, physical, developmental and behavioral challenges.

As an intern, you will spend a minimum of twelve hours per week for a period of three months to one year and be assigned to a program that closely matches your field of study and interests. NAC supports you with individual and group supervision, in addition to attending monthly graduate training on a wide range of topics during the academic year.

Only students seeking to complete fieldwork requirements for a degree should apply for an Internship. All other students are welcome to apply on NAC’s Volunteer page. Enrollment is open throughout the year. Undergraduate and graduate students working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree are eligible.

Be prepared to engage in an interview process, provide a resume and cover letter, complete NAC’s Student Application and, if applicable, meet requirements for background clearances and fingerprinting.
