NAC Honored During Mentoring Month
New York State Mentoring honored NAC’s Samantha Callaghan, LMSW, for her contributions in helping NAC teens establish meaningful mentoring relationships. Samantha is the Director of NAC’s Family Permanency Center, as well as the NAC Teen Group Site Coordinator for our Mentoring programs. This honor is especially rewarding during National Mentoring Month.
NAC runs three mentoring programs: our Teen Mentoring, Preteen Mentoring and Adoptment group. Mentoring provides NAC youth with the opportunity to make a meaningful connection with an adult role model, expand the breadth of their experiences, and to identify, set and achieve their goals throughout the year, and beyond.
“For the last 6 years, being a site coordinator has been meaningful and life-changing in so many ways. To me, mentoring means being a positive role model who offers support and guidance to children while helping them navigate transitions. Mentoring can be a source of stability, safety, and normalcy. My mentoring experience has given me invaluable perspective and motivation, knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of children.”
Samantha, we can’t thank you enough for all you do for NAC kids. Congratulations!
