NAC held it’s 35th Annual Holiday Party at The Prince George Ballroom on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Over 800 children and family members attended the party, which is one of the largest holiday events in NYC for medically fragile children. NAC children look forward to this party all year long. The day was filled with entertainment, including a NAC kids’ talent show, arts and crafts, fun holiday activities, and of course a visit from Santa Claus.  

More than 50 companies and community supporters have donated over 2,500 toys and gifts for NAC kids. Companies include CBS, Grey Group, KKR, Skadden Arps Meagher and Flom, DHG, Borghese, Bertelsmann, Inc., The Esteé Lauder Companies, Inc. Tiffany & Co. and many more.

For many people, the holiday season represents a time of happiness and giving; however, for too many disadvantaged families it is a time when they struggle to make the holidays special for their children.  The holiday season is even more stressful for those families that are both living in poverty and caring for a child, or in many cases multiple children, with special medical needs. 

“NAC’s children and families struggle to make it through each day,” says Arlene Goldsmith, Ph.D., Executive Director of NAC.  “Our Holiday Party is one small way to make a difference; to make the holiday season a little brighter for some of our city’s most vulnerable children and families.  It is truly a remarkable day.  All you see are smiles.”
