The Vivian & Roger Farah Comprehensive Healthcare Center Opens
On Thursday, January 26, 2017, NAC celebrated the grand opening of The Vivian & Roger Farah Comprehensive Healthcare Center. This 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art health care center will provide pediatric developmental care and a full array of mental health services through licensed Article 28 and 31 clinics for children with medical complexities and/or behavioral issues, who are involved in the child welfare system and living in poverty.Â
As part of the Center, NAC is launching a new 39 ft. wheelchair-accessible Mobile Medical Clinic that will deliver vital pediatric and preventive care to hundreds of children with special medical needs in the community. The Mobile Medical Clinic will travel to Brooklyn, the Bronx and Manhattan. NAC is the only child welfare agency in New York City to exclusively serve children with medical complexities and to fully integrate medical, mental health, and a continuum of social services under one roof, including the use of a Mobile Medical Clinic specifically for this population. This innovative model is changing the way healthcare is coordinated and delivered to children in the child welfare system with medical and behavioral complexities.Â
The new Vivian & Roger Comprehensive Healthcare Center and Mobile Medical Clinic will reach more than 1,000 children and adults annually with specialized health services.
